Window Shopping

I think I might make ‘Window Shopping’ a weekly installment on my blog.
That way I can look back at all these lovely things I want to buy/make.
Sorry about lack of posting over the weekend, I went out Friday night for a few drinks in a few bars, Saturday was mainly spend in bed before venturing out for my first ever Indian Meal, and the yesterday I was at work.

As it is half term and I have no college, I have spent the morning doing some much needed online shopping. Considering that I have been earning good money for about 7 months now I haven’t actually spent a lot of it on clothes, this results in my wardrobe being very sad and lonely.
These three items are from ASOS again, I am very much in love with this weeks feature ‘Tex Mex’. It pairs my love of Dia Los Muertos with geometric prints and viola, beautiful items.
I also got some 120 film developed so I’ll try and scan those in and post later on today :)

Tartan Trousers

The finished piece!

I decided against a tutorial because I made a ton of mistakes and changes, and it would have been just awful.
When I make another, better constructed pair I probably will, but for now you can just look at these. They are very comfy and pajama like, and I love them oh so much.

In other news, I’m getting my tattoo tomorrow.
4 Hours worth of tattooing.
First ever tattoo.
I’ll be posting about it in the evening, so check it out :)

Window Shopping

After looking through ASOS’s new feature ‘Pretty 90’s’ I’m thinking I’ll start dedicating some time to making clothes. I know I had it listed as one of my goals for the year, but as of yet I haven’t really stuck to it.
I’ll put it down to the January Blues that I keep hearing about, as I have spent many hours this month watching a lot of TV.
Brown hair is odd, I’m in that stage where I’m not sure if I made a completely bad decision in dying it.
Also I missed a few patches round the front so I can only wear my hair down until I dye it again.
I think it’s a tad too dark for me, since my eyebrows aren’t really all that visible, so I’m thinking I’ll gradually go to a lighter shade of brown.
And tomorrow is my birthday, cheers all round!
Also, my exam paper comes out today, so I’ll be posting about that later!

New Years Eve

It’s New Years Eve. I hate to say this because people always say it but I can’t believe it’s already 2012. Crazinesss.
Anywho, here’s my outfit for tonights festivities.

Bad quality webcam pic, too lazy to charge my camera eh,
but I look semi-normal for once, minus the awkward pose and smile.
This is as good as it gets.
Well, I hope you all have a good transition into the New Year, and that it brings you all great happiness and joy. See ya :)

Portfolio Work

So this whole uni thing is moving pretty quick, I’ve already had one conditional offer, one asking for me to submit a sketchbook of work, and one interview offer.
I’ve been busy sorting out my portfolio and here are some pictures I took to show the dress I made for my coursework last year...

it’s all very exciting :)

What I wore...

It’s getting chillier here now that it’s creeping slowly into winter, and I’ve reverted back to my winter warmers, greatly consisting of flowy dresses, baggy jumpers and thick wooly socks. An outfit I donned a lot last year after reading Kurt Cobain’s biography. I’m not a fan of skinny jeans anymore, they are just too restricting after a summer of baggy trousers and skirts, and I don’t have many other trouser type things, so wooly tights it is :)
For these pictures I set my shutter speed to about 3 and used a 2nd Curtain flash, then sort of swayed whilst the picture was taken, to create the wispy sort of light effects.

Jumper-one of Jacks.
Scarf- Next
Dress-New Look
Tights-probably George
Socks-H&M

I really like the dress but unfortunately it’s a really tight squeeze, so I’m going to have to make it into a skirt one of these days, which is fine cause I guess I wear it more under jumpers and things anyway.
Bye :)

What I wore...

I was a bit unsure on how to go about doing an outfit post, since everyone I’ve seen so far have always been full body shots. I don’t personally like taking full body shots of myself, and everytime I’ve tried they’ve never really come out, well, nice. So I tried a compromise. I saw a girls blog the other day, and for the life of me I cannot remember who it was or how I came across it, but she managed to post pictures of herself, without really showing herself, i.e. sitting down cross legged, with her head out the frame. So I thought I’d give it a go, and I’m feeling a bit more confident about these shots than I would with a full body one.
Shoes- Navy Converses.
Leggings-Topshop a few years back.
Nirvana top- Made it myself
Scarf- Next a few years back.

bye bye.
